An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday adjourned hearing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Amir Khan case until September 5.
During the hearing, the bench asked why the Deputy Superintendent of Rangers (DSR) who had arrested Amir Khan was not present in the court. The law officer assured the court that the DSR would be present in the next hearing. He said that copies of witnesses’ statements had been provided to Amir Khan.
Khan, who is accused of giving shelter to terrorists at party headquarters Nine Zero, is likely to be indicted in the next hearing.
Talking to media after the hearing, Amir Khan accused leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) of fleeing the country.
“How would PPP would fight a ‘war’ without its leaders?” he remarked. He was referring to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah’s statement on August 27 in which he said that laying hands on the former president Zardari will spark ‘war’.
Khan said that offenders of political parties were produced before the court with heavy protocol.
