Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday adjourned hearing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Amir Khan until September 5.

As the hearing progressed, the court asked why Rangers DSR who had arrested Amir Khan is not present before the court. However, the law officer said that the DSR would be present before the court in the next hearing. He said that Amir Khan has been provided copies of witnesses’ statements.

Khan is accused of giving shelter to terrorists at party headquarters Nine Zero. Khan is likely to be indicted in the next hearing.

While talking to the media in court’s premises after the hearing, accused Amir Khan said that leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have fled the country. How PPP would fight ‘war’ without its leaders, he asked.

Khan posed the question after Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah said on August 27 that laying hands on former president Zardari will spark ‘war’.

Khan said that offenders of political parties were produced before the court with heavy protocol.
