On Thursday, Multan’s Central Jail executed a death row prisoner convicted of killing at least six people.

According to local media, Maqbool Hussain was found guilty of murdering six people in 1996. He claimed to have committed the crime to avenge the murder of his brothers and was sentenced to death by a session court.

Local media also reported that Hussain had filed a mercy petition which had been rejected by higher courts and President Mamnoon Hussain.
