A father and uncle on Wednesday threw acid on a 24-year-old bride-to-be during her sleep for marrying a man of her choice.
Rabia was to tie the knot with Jaffar in Ludon’s village 56-KB. Her father and uncle splashed acid on her early Wednesday morning as a result of which the young bride received more than 70 percent burns.
Upon getting information of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar reached the scene with heavy contingent of police.
Rabia’s father Shaukat Ali accused the groom, his friend Bilal and sister Mazhara for the attack after which police detained all the three along with the bride’s uncle Muhammad Riaz.
Later, during investigation Muhammad Riaz confessed that he and the bride’s father were involved in the attack.
