The Election Tribunal on Wednesday announced the results of the inquiry regarding elections in NA 154.
Supporters of PTI and PML-N had gathered outside election tribunal’s office in Multan, where results were due to be announced.
The tribunal called for re-elections in NA-154 and deseated the Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PMLN) candidate Muhammad Siddique Khan Baloch, who had stood in opposition to Pakistan Tehreek-Insaaf’s (PTI) candidate Jahangir Tareen.
Siddque Khan Baloch had won the seat in 2013 elections as an independent candidate and later joined PMLN. He was accused of rigging elections for the NA-154 seat in 2013. He was also accused of having fake degrees.
The PTI supporters are rejoicing the tribunal’s call for re-elections.
