The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday restrained the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting Sindh Chief Secretary Siddique Memon while granting him a pre-arrest bail.

The NAB is investigating into charges of corruption against the chief secretary and other front men of corruption mafia in Sindh.

Memon on Wednesday approached the court seeking bail before arrest as according to him he has nothing to do with any corruption or embezzlement. The SHC bench approved Siqqiue’s bail plea seeking grant of bail before arrest against the surety bonds of Rs 500,000.

Memon approached the court through his counsel and filed a bail plea against his possible arrest by the NAB as the Bureau is inquiring against him. The NAB has started investigating against big fish in Sindh and reportedly Memon was one of them.

According to sources, it was decided in NAB’s meeting held on 14th July in Islamabad to initiate inquiry against the chief secretary.

It is pertinent to mention here that chairman of chief minister’s inspection team (CMIT) Abdus Subhan Memon is also under inquiry of NAB. Subhan has been facing allegations of illegal allotment of land. He is also on bail awarded by the SHC.
