Sindh Home Minsiter Sohail Anwar Khan Sial on Wednesday visited Karachi police office and presided over a meeting there.
Sindh IGP, Additional IGP, DIG Admin, Zonal DIGs, DIG CIA, District SSPs, SSPs investigation and others senior police officers also attended the meeting.
The home minister directed for constitution of a committee to identify vacancies in police department and to put up a report with regard to the shortfall on urgent basis. He said all the vacancies in the police department would be filled on early basis so as to overcome the shortfall issue.
He said the government during the current financial year was also going for 10,000 more vacancies for the police department. Sohail Anwar while reviewing establishment of more police stations, according to the requirements, directed immediate opening of “Sahil” police station at sea view.
He said the report in this regard must be submitted to him by tonight. He further said that there were many complaints of citizens regarding street crimes near and around “Do Darya”.
The minister also issued directives for establishment of a high power board at the CPO level under the chairmanship of IG Sindh to examine all policies, financial, administrative and welfare matters of the police department.
