Govt and MQM hold talks on forming ‘grievances redressal committee’

A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on government officials in Punjab House on Tuesday to discuss the formation of a grievances redressal committee (GRC) approved by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday to address the party’s concerns regarding the Karachi operation.
The MQM delegation and government ministers discussed the terms of references and the role of the GRC in the presence of the Sindh Apex Committee.
The MQM delegation was headed by party’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar and comprised Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Barrister Saif , Shabbir Qaimkhani and Wasim Akhtar. The government’s side included Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervez Rashid, PM’s legal adviser Ashtar Ausaf Ali and Special Assistant to PM Barrister Zafarullah Khan.
