Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that Pakistan-China relations are touching new heights and economic cooperation between the two would benefit the entire region.
He expressed these views while talking to the media before leaving for a visit to China.
He said that China has helped Pakistan in every tough situation. Joint projects between the two sides are beneficial for the entire region, he added.
The CM will meet Chinese authorities to discuss projects set in Punjab under China-Pakistan economic Corridor (CPEC). Shahbaz will also hold key meetings to strengthen cooperation in energy, infrastructure and transports sectors.
Earlier, Shahbaz met renowned boxer Amir Khan in Lahore and asked for his help for boosting boxing game in Pakistan.
During the meeting, CM Punjab stated that Pakistanis are talented but the need is to provide them facilities. He said that boxer Amir has made the nation proud.
On this occasion, Amir Khan said that the Chief minister has taken positive steps for promoting boxing in Pakistan.
