Eleven killed in Punjab accidents

At least eleven people were killed and more than dozen injured in traffic accidents in DG Khan, Mianwali and Sheikhupura on Sunday.

According to details, five persons died and five others wounded when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw in Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday. Enraged people set the bus on fire.

Rescue sources said that an over speeding passenger bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Jampur Road killing three people on the spot and leaving seven others injured.

The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital where two more succumbed to their wounds raising death toll to five. Five others wounded people including women and children are under treatment and according to medics their condition was also serious.

The bus driver managed to escape from the scene after the accident and enraged people set the bus on fire.

Four persons were killed and several injured in collision between two over speeding vehicles near Fakharabad check post in Mianwali. According to rescue sources, condition of some of the injured was critical.

At least two persons including a woman died and three others injured in collision between truck and a car here on Sunday.

According to motorways police the accident took place at Sheikhupura Motorway where an over speeding truck hit a Lahore bound private car coming from Layyah.

Two people identified as Shazia and Shah Jehan died on the spot in the accident while car driver Imran and two children sustained critical wounds.

The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital while the police after registering a case against the truck driver started the investigation.
