The Ministry of Interior has constituted a committee to probe into establishment of illegal katchi abadis and the provision of gas and electricity to these illegal settlements .
The inquiry committee is being headed by Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA), Hussain Asghar. The committee would investigate the matter and identify officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) behind encouraging illegal katchi abadis.
Sources said that strict action will be taken against those found responsible for supplying electricity and gas to these illegal katchi abadis.
