Deported man missing – SHC issues notices to FIA, others

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued notices to interior ministry, IG FIA and SHO airport to file comments on the petition seeking the whereabouts of Kashif alias David who went missing.

Kashif’s wife, Raheela Kashif, had filed a petition seeking his whereabouts as went missing on August 1, 2015. She named the interior ministry, IG FIA and SHO airport as respondents.

She stated in her petition that her husband has his own business in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is settled in Abu Dhabi. The petitioner submitted that Kashif was at home in UAE on August 1, when the immigration authority raided his house and took him into custody.

According to Raheela, on August 6, she received a call through which she came to know that her husband has been deported to Pakistan. For the whereabouts of her husband, she filed several applications in UAE embassy and then with the Airport SHO but she did not get any response. The family members of the detainee are mentally disturbed, and tense.

She prayed to the court to direct the respondents to produce her husband before the court and help release him from the illegal custody.

SHC bench took up the petition and issued notices to the respondents to file their comments on the next hearing. The case was adjourned till October 3.
