Busy day for police as 40 suspects arrested, 4 terrorists killed

At least four terrorists were killed while 40 suspects including dacoits and extortionists were arrested in different areas of the city on Thursday.

According to sources, police received information from the intelligence about presence of terrorists in the Baldia Town area. The police raided the area where terrorists opened fire at them. Four terrorists from the Lyari gang were killed when the police opened retaliatory fire. The dead include Tahir and Sajid. The terrorists hailed from a banned terrorist outfit.

The police also claimed to have seized modern firearms from the terrorists including Kalashnikovs, TT pistols, three bombs and hand grenades. Police shifted the bodies of the militants to the Civil Hospital.

In another incident, police arrested two dacoits during an encounter in Sarjani town, while police detained two extortionists in Mobeena Town and recovered black money and weapons.

Meanwhile, the police apprehended 40 suspects during a search operation conducted in Baloch Colony and Junejo Town. Police officials said that four suspects were involved in street crime activities and police recovered weapons from the suspects.
