The Sindh transport department on Wednesday banned usage of CNG and LPG by vans which are used to pick and drop students from schools and colleges.
There are few days left until deadline of the new order under which school vans will not use CNG and LPG, however, owners and drivers seem to be indifferent to the ban. The order also restricts owners to paint vans yellow. The departments concerned have been issued directives to have locals comply with the order. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ameer Sheikh said the authorities would ensure strict implementation of the order to save innocent lives amid tensions. However, lack of interest in transport bodies depicts poor respect to law and order.
