The Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi has invited Hurriyat leaders for a ‘reception party’ on August 23, the day the NSA-level talks between the two countries are scheduled in New Delhi.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz will meet the Hurriyat leaders on the day he is scheduled to begin talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi has invited Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz Umer Farooq , Syed Ali Gilani and Yaseen Malik on August 23 to relieve their concerns.

The United Nations (UN) and United States (US) have taken notice of the ‘escalation of violence’ along the Line of Control (LoC), and  have called upon India and Pakistan to exercise ‘maximum restraint’ and expressed serious concern over the firing along the LoC.

Sartaj Aziz’s visit to New Delhi could play a role in defusing tensions between Indian and Pakistan.

Different important matters including terrorism will be discussed between the two. Diplomats are terming the NSA-level talks on August 23 of extreme importance. The leaders will be representing neighbouring countries amid clashes and tensions on Line of Control (LoC) and otherwise.
