Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal said on Wednesday that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had been formed to probe into murder attempt on MQM MNA Rashid Godil.
Presiding over a meeting to review law and order situation in Larkana held at DIG office on Wednesday, he said a massive operation against dacoits would be launched soon across the Sindh province and Rangers might be called for more assistance at anytime in this regard.
The meeting was attended by DIG Allah Rakhiyo Meerani and SSPs from five districts of Larkana division. On the occasion, Sohail briefed all SSPs on law and order situation in their respective districts. They told him that overall situation in their districts was better and action was being taken against culprits.
DIG Meerani told at the meeting that 2750 different criminal cases had been reported at different police stations in Larkana division in last six months. He also told that 90 percent of police stations were in shambles in the district.
Sohail directed police officials that action should be taken impartially against the criminals, drug dens and gamblers. He said all dilapidated police stations would be repaired and sophisticated weapons would be given to the policemen in the district. Talking to media after the meeting, he said the home department had given strong security protocol to Godil but he transferred it to others. He said all MPAs and MNAs had been provided enough security without considering their affiliation to political parties and if any of them needed more security, police will provide it.
