PM, COAS won’t let Khanzada’s martyrdom go waste

Condemning the terrorist blast targeting Punjab Home Minister Col (r) Shuja Khanzada and condoling the heirs of the people martyred in the incident, President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif have reiterated the commitment to purge the country of terrorists.

General Sharif Sunday directed the intelligence agencies to help find perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the “Dera” of Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada in Shadi Khan, Attock.

“Such dastardly coward attempts cannot dent our national resolve to eliminate the menace,” the ISPR DG quoted the COAS as saying.

Gen Sharif condemned the terrorist attack, saying that Khanzada Shaheed was a bold officer whose sacrifice for the greater cause of cleansing Pakistan would not go waste.

Moreover, in a statement from the Prime Minister’s House, the premier said that the terrorists would be chased to their last hideout and eliminated with national resolve and unity. He said that the sacrifices of the brave nation and valiant heroes such as Khanzada would decimate the designs of coward terrorists. He said that the courage and valour of Shuja Khanzada was a message to the masterminds of terrorists that they were bound to be defeated.

The prime minister also prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and patience and fortitude for the grieved family. He reaffirmed the commitment and determination of the government for pursuing the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism with full force and directed for pre-emptive security strategy to counter terrorists’ planning.

The prime minister urged the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) not to lower their guards till the elimination of last terrorist. He also stressed upon the change of tactics and going for preventive operational methodology.

More so, President Mamnoon Hussain expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Punjab home minister. He paid tribute to the unflinching resolve of late Shuja Khanzada in the fight against terrorists and said that the martyrdom of the Home Minister would not go in vain.

The nation would forever remember the commendable services rendered by the late Punjab minister for the cause of motherland, the president added. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for them to bear this loss with courage and fortitude, said a press release.
