Khanzada falls but the fight must go on!

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek leaders have expressed deep sense of shock and grief over the death of Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada along with 18 others in a suicide attack at his residence in Shadi Khel village of district Attock.

Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmoodur Rashid on Sunday condemned the demise of Punjab Home Minister Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada and others in the terrorist attack in Attock.

Mehmood said the coward attack will not weaken the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country.

“The whole nation is united and stands behind its army and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorists,” he added.

He said that Khanzada was a brave son of the soil who sacrificed his life for a great cause.

He said the countrymen would keep the spirit of fighting against terrorists alive till eliminating the last terrorist from the country.

“Each and every citizen will have to keep a vigilant eye on terrorists and their activities to root out the menace from society,” he said.

The opposition leader also expressed heartfelt condolence with the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the families.

ZARB-E-AZB HAS BROKEN TERRORISTS’ BACKBONE:

While condemning the Attock attack, Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said the nation has lost a bold and courageous citizen who performed his duties efficiently.

While talking to PAT office-bearers on phone, the PAT chief said that though the Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the backbone of the terrorists’ and their organisations but they have not been eliminated in total and that can only be done if the National Action Plan (NAP) is implemented 100 per cent.

He said this proves beyond doubt that the terrorists are roaming scot-free in the cities of Pakistan and the question arises how could the security forces deputed for the security of the Punjab home minister let such a lapse occur and this lapse is on part of the police that why did they not search all those who wanted to enter the deera.

Qadri said that this is a cowardly act and let the terrorists know that such acts will never deter the resolve of the nation.

He said the end victory will be of the peace loving people of Pakistan and the courageous armed forces of the country who continue to sacrifice for the country.

“Our armed forces are hunting these criminals down in the harsh terrains of Waziristan and mountains,” he said, adding that such acts prove that the terrorists continue to be funded and all those channels have to be blocked.

NATION STANDS STRONG:

In a statement issued on Sunday, PPP Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo said that such abhorrent activities of terrorists would not weaken the resolve of the nation rather strengthen it to defeat terrorism and extremism thoroughly.

He said that the nation and the military leadership were on the same page to defeat the scourge under the National Action Plan (NAP), adding that the people of Pakistan would spare no effort to root out the menace.

He recalled that the PPP was the worst-hit party of terrorism as it took away their leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and the nation was deprived of a very popular and most courageous leader.
