Eight of a family drown at Manora, 2 bodies recovered

As many as eight members of a family drowned at ManoraIsland on Sunday. Two bodies were recovered and four people were saved.

Rescue sources said a family belonging to Nazimabad came to ManoraIsland to have a picnic. However, two of the family members went to deep waters and to rescue them six other family members dived into the sea. However, divers saved four persons, while dead bodies of two men Moazzam and Badar were recovered. Two other persons were missing and the divers were trying to find them out.

HINDU TRADER DEPRIVED OF VALUABLES

A young Hindu motorcyclist was deprived of cash and other valuables here on Sunday.

Pardeep Kumar, a trader, was going to Larkana from Naundero on his bike. When he reached near Hassan Wahan bus stop, two armed criminals approached him from behind as they too were riding a bike and threatened him to stop by pointing pistol at him. He stopped for fear of losing life, he told PPI.

He said when he stopped, the gangsters snatched cash of Rs 150,000, cell phone, his bike and then escaped. He said he was standing on main Larkana-Naundero road when another biker gave him lift and he reached Naundero and informed the police.

FOUR SUSPECTS KILLED IN CITY

Police and Rangers on Sunday claimed to have killed four suspects during an exchange of fire in the Memon Goth area of Malir during a joint operation.

Senior Superintendent of Police Malir Dr Najeeb said the suspects were linked to a banned outfit and the security forces recovered a gun and four TT pistols from their possession. The bodies have been shifted to a local hospital for autopsy, he further said.
