TDAP chief prods businesswomen to contribute to economic growth

Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive SM Munir on Friday urged the businesswomen to come forward and play a key role in mainstream of economic activities.

Addressing the office bearers of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry here, he said that no nation in the world could make progress without the active participation of women in all sphere of life.

He said that it was first time in the history that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had offered a number of excellent package of incentives to business community especially business women which also includes tax holiday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that Prime Minister always attached great importance to business community and stakeholder of private sector were being taken into confidence prior to formulation of new economic policies and lay new taxation.

Munir said that there was vast scope for export of marble, fresh fruit, wood products etc from this province and TDAP would offer special incentives to business women for displaying their products at all international expo provided meet the international standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice President SAARC Chamber and Chairman United Business Group Iftikhar Ali Malik said that Prime Minister had given more than 50 per cent representation to private sector in high level advisory committee of planning commission headed by the Prime Minister.

He said that it was again first time in history that Prime Minister had earmarked 50 per cent share of loans for business women for the establishment of small and medium enterprises.

Senator Ilyas Bilour, provincial chairman of United Business Group and former president FPCCI paid tributes to Prime Minister for launching successful Zarb-i-Azab to curb the terrorist activities in the region.

He thanked the Prime Minister for offering tax holiday which he added would help a lot to revive economic activities.

President Women Chamber Ambreen Khan Hoti in her welcome address said that it was first time that most popular top leadership of business community led by TDAP Chief visited women chamber to help address problems being confronted by the local businessman especially business women.

Vice Chairman United Business Group Haji Nasim Ur Rehman, VPs FPCCI Haji Sultan Ahmad, Hameed Akhtar Chadda, Mian Farid Akram, former VP FPCCI Zubair Tufail and others also spoke on the occasion.
