ICT moves to implement minimum wage

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration will soon launch a crackdown on factories and private institutions to confirm whether they implement the minimum wage announced by the district government recently.

According to an official, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Captain (r) Mushtaq Ahmed has directed the ICT administration’s Labour Department to conduct a survey of factories and private organisations to confirm whether or not they pay the minimum wage of Rs 13,000 per month.

Recently, the Islamabad chief commissioner has issued a notification fixing the minimum wage at Rs 13,000 per month, with a directive to various organizations and factories to implement the minimum wage.
