Army Chief General Raheel Sharif hosted an Independence Day reception in the honour of serving and retired soldiers on Friday night, ISPR said in a statement.
The guests praised the performance of the army troops which resulted in the phenomenal success of Operation Zarb-e-Azb, which brought smiles for the nation to celebrate the independence day in such an unprecedented manner, statement said.
Former army chief Gen (r) Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani also attended the reception.
