Unidentified armed men shot dead a police constable and injured another in Peshawar on Saturday and fled the scene.
Police said that unidentified miscreants attacked a police mobile van in Hayatabad while it was on routine patrolling.
Two policemen were injured in the attack and the assailants managed to escape from the scene.
The injured cops were shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex where constable Bakht Muneer succumbed to his wounds where condition of other identified as Anwar was stated to be stable.
The police placing a strict cordon off in the area after the attack conducted search a operation for the assailants but no arrest could be made.
