10, including four children, killed in Murree, Battagram road mishaps

At least 10 people were killed in two road mishaps in Murree and Battagram areas on Saturday.

Four children died and six others were injured in a collision between passenger van and a truck in Murree.

Rescue sources said that a Rawalpindi-bound passenger van coming from Muzaffarabad collided head-on with an over speeding truck in Barian area of Murree.

Four children died on the spot in the accident while six others sustained wounds. The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The police took both vehicles into custody and after registering a case against the truck driver started an investigation.

Meanwhile, at least six passengers died and four others sustained injuries as a van plunged into a deep ravine in Battagram.

Police said the van fell into the ravine in Bana Alai area when making a turn at the roundabout. The van was coming from Batella.
