Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday announced that the Hazara motorway would be a 6-lane thoroughfare and directed officials to complete the project by December, earlier than the estimated completion date in 2017.
The PM was attending the project review ceremony of the Hazara Motorway project in Chichiyan.
The National Highway Authority officials also briefed the premier about the project’s progress on the occasion. He was told that the Havalian section of Hazara motorway is being constructed at a cost of over Rs 22 billion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharif said the constructions of roads will bring stability to the region and will pave way for an economic revolution. Hazara motorway is part of the greater China Pakistan Economic Project, which will bring economic stability to the region, the PM added.
The ground-breaking of the second phase of the project in Mansehra will take place soon, said the premier.
