Three girls from the pre-medical group took the top three positions in this year’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examinations held between April and June.
The results of 56,396 candidates were announced by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Thursday. The overall passing average for all candidates is 73.5 per cent, compared to an average of 72.3 per cent last year.
Eleven of the twelve top positions in the four groups were claimed by female students. Maha Zainab from Army Public School and College Multan placed first with 1,047 marks out of 1,100. Ujaala Abdul Rasheed from PAEC Model College Nilore and Seerat-e-Fatima from Punjab College both secured 1,031 marks. Ayesha Nasrullah from Punjab College placed third with 1,030 marks.
Fatima Farooq from Bahria College Naval Complex topped the general science group with 978 marks. Mehwish Siddique from Punjab College placed second with 958 marks, followed by Sahar Humayun, also from Bahria College Naval Complex, with 956 marks.
In pre-engineering, Abdullah Ashfaq from OPF Boys College H-8 and Fasiha Zafar from Punjab College Sargodha both scored 1,023 marks.
In the commerce group, Sumaiya Khurshid Awan from Punjab College placed first with 956 marks, while Rishi Kiynat from Indus College of Commerce and Barka Saleem from Punjab College of Commerce scored 948 and 944 marks, respectively.
