TERROR BID FOILED, TERRORISTS NABBED:

Separately, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed the arrest of at least five high-value targets, including Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat Naib Ameer in Karachi Bakhat Zaman, whose “foreign sponsored” gang was apprehended in the intelligence-based operation.

The gang had prepared an explosive-laden vehicle and a motorcycle which they were to use on Independence Day for subversion.

During interrogation, the apprehended terrorists confessed that vehicles were arranged from Karachi and they were waiting for suicide bombers which had to arrive from Afghanistan. Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat ameer in Karachi had gone to Afghanistan for the same purpose.

On a tip off, the security agencies continued surveillance of group for weeks before the operation was simultaneously launched last Sunday in Hyderabad and Karachi to arrest culprits. Explosive-laden hi-roof and motorcycle have also been impounded.

The ISPR says some more startling revelations are expected during the interrogation.
