“Minorities Day” was being observed on Tuesday to recognise the distinguished role played by minorities in building the country.
The objective of marking the day is to acknowledge the contribution of the minorities in different walks of life, highlight their rights and promote inter-faith harmony.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reiterated his government’s unflinching resolve to protect the rights of minorities living in Pakistan.
In a message on the occasion of Minorities Day, the Prime Minister lauded the distinguished role played by the minorities in all the nation building efforts. He expressed the hope that the minorities would keep playing their respective role in the national development.
