PIA suspends two employees in Saudi Arabia

Secretary Civil Aviation Division said that Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has suspended two of its employees at Saudi Airport on Tuesday morning due to misbehaviour.

He was briefing the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges held here under the Chairmanship of Senator Doctor Jhanzeeb Jamaldini.

About the privilege motion of Senator Khushbakhat Shujaat, the Secretary Civil Aviation Division informed the committee that the employees of PIA have shown the concern over imposition of tax on the their free of cast journey.

The ministry has recommended its abolishment but still no further development has taken place.

The senate body also decided to call the FBR in the next meeting and Civil Aviation Division should bring all the record to brief the relevant minister on this issue.

Senator Sajid Mir, in another privileges motion, said that the provided working paper is totally prevailing on false.

The General Manager of PIA Aamir Bashir told the committee that they have received many complaints about the misbehaviour of PIA employees from Saudi Arabia, in this regard he visited Saudi Arabia to review the complaints from the public about the PIA staff.

The manager told the committee the station manger has held an inquiry against those who misbehaved with Senator Sajid Mir and they have been transferred to other stations as a punishment.

Senator Atta-ur-Rehman, Nighat Mirza, Syed Muzafar Hussain Shah, Professor Sajid Mir, Farhat Ullah Babar, Secretary Parliamentary Affairs and Secretary Aviation also attended the meeting.

  1. That’s typical PIA way of handling issues. If its an MNA/MPA or a Senator, the staff will be hanged immediately. If it’s a genuine customer complaint.. no one gives a hoot. Private this God damn place and clean the mess.
