The Sindh High Court (SHC) stayed the appointment of chairperson of KarachiUniversity’s political science department and issued notice to the assistant advocate general.
The petitioner pleaded the court that she was appointed in the political science department of the university five years before the appointment of Dr Sameena Saeed but Sameena was declared senior to her.
Meanwhile, university’s administration appointed Dr Sameena instead of her as caretaker head of the department. “Being a senior, it is my right to become the head of the political science department of the KarachiUniversity,” she pleaded the court. The SHC bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhter took up the petition and issued notice to assistant advocate general to file the comments on next hearing which is scheduled on 20th of August.
