Sindh Inspector General Police Ghulam Hyder Jamali said on Tuesday that DIGs and police officers of good reputation should be given responsibilities so that the citizens coming to register complaints could be facilitated well.
“The police officers having criminal record and then restored on their services should not be given important responsibilities or posted in police stations,” he said while addressing a meeting at Central Police Office and ordered submitting him report on all the important issues within five days.
All the additional IGs, AIGs and zonal DIGs of Karachi were also present on the occasion, while DIGs of Sukker, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazir Abad and Larkana participated through video conference in the meeting.
The IG said that FIRs, police service record and station registers should be computerized. He said apart from pickets and check-posts, snap-checking and police raiding teams should also be activated around sensitive landmarks and buildings, mosques, offices, imambargahs.
He directed to make all the course of actions and policies strong at every level on the occasion of 14th August. Jamali said to make community policing effective by in cooperation with respectable personalities of the relevant areas, traders and other known persons.
Meanwhile, the IG also announced Rs 0.5million for policemen of Sukkur police range and Rs 0.3 million for a team of Shaheed Benazirabad police range for marvelous performance against crimes.
