At least six culprits are reported to have brutally tortured a local man for three days before throwing him unconscious in the open.
The incident was reported from Lateefabad area where six persons including Rana Manan, Billu Mazari, Shani Mughal, Rana Farhan and Sultan Mehmood among anothers forcefully took Malik Zaryat to a nearby farmhouse in Machi Goth.
The culprits baton-charged the man and got him bare-naked at gun point. The culprits also made a video of their heinous crime. Zaryat was given undrinkable water all three days.
Rana Manan and aides asked Zaryat’s family to pay ransom money worth Rs 1 millian.
Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) has taken notice of the incident. The authorities concerned have been ordered to file a report as soon as possible. A case was registered against 19 accused on the direction of the IG. Police had started raids in the area for arresting culprits.
