Pakistan has received support from Argentina in its bid to get hosting rights for its upcoming Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group II final against Chinese Taipei which is scheduled to be held in September.
Argentine Ambassador Mr. Rodolfo Martin Saravia has requested the ITF to permit Pakistan to host the tie via a written letter. Security reasons are the main concern for the ITF as Pakistan has often seen unrest and terrorist activities.
In his letter, Saravia has assured the ITF that the Pakistani government will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the players. The last time Pakistan held a Davis Cup tie was ten years ago in 2005.
