MARDAN: Sheikh Maltoon police arrested as many as 63 people and produced them before an anti-terrorism court over the Mardan grid station attack, according to local media sources.
The court granted a two-day remand of the detainees. Cases were registered against hundreds of people after the grid station was attacked on Friday, sources further revealed.
Peshawar Electric Supply Company Maintenance General Manager Niaz Muhammad briefed Adviser to Prime Minister Amir Muqam and Pesco chief over the damages and repair work on Saturday, authorities added.
“At least three transformers, 10 breakers, two control rooms and four Wapda vehicles were damaged in the attack,” said Muhammad. “Some repairs have been made while others are awaiting equipment being brought in from Lahore.”
