In another of its series of operation against eateries serving unhygienic food on Friday, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz raided and sealed Yasir Broast Chuburji Branch due to dirty cold storage and wandering rats in the kitchen area.
The team also witnessed dirty freezers, flies and cockroaches in the kitchen and despite repeated warnings no improvement was made in this regard.
The Ravi Town imposed heavy fine on a fast food outlet named The Chicks on Friday because of spoiled vegetables, uncovered food and broken freezers. The team also issued the last warning and threatened to seal the outlet if it didn’t mend its ways.
The same team also imposed heavy fine and issued last warning to the canteen of Lady Willingdon Hospital. The team cited the reason of imposing fines as no expiry dates were mentioned on the sandwiches, dirty boxes and uncovered food items.
Earlier on Thursday, Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz visited Hsin Kaung, a Chinese Restaurant located in 9-C-K Gulberg area.
The outlet was sealed due to extremely unhygienic conditions, cockroaches in kitchen area, poor sanitary conditions, open drains, poor hygiene of cold storage, expired products and water accumulation in kitchen.
The PFA noted that several notices were issued to the restaurant but no improvement was made.
A team led by Data Ganj Baksh town on Thursday team imposed heavy fine to the noted road side eatery Hafiz Fast Food and Juice Corner on the Mall road due to uncovered food and flies.
