Mardan residents attack grid station over power outages

Protesting against prolonged power outage, baton-wielding protesters on Friday attacked a grid station in Mardan and set the office record on fire after destroying machinery worth millions of rupees, according to a news channel.

Per details, Mardan residents attacked a 220 KV grid station in the city and apart from ransacking the office, they damaged several cars. The police got hold of the situation after dispersing the protesters.

Power supply to Mardan, Malakand, Swabi and Swat was suspended owing to the attack, according to Water and Power Ministry spokesperson. He added that efforts were being made to restore power supply to the affected areas.
