The Sindh Assembly on Friday passed a bill unanimously to give the control of Sindh Board of Technical Education to Sindh chief minister. Earlier, this board had been running under the control of Sindh governor.
Minister Sikandar Mandhro presented the Govt Bill 1/2015 The Sindh Board of Technical Education (amendment) Bill 2015 for consideration and it was unanimously passed. The amendment of Section 10 of the Sindh Board of Technical Education Ordinance 1970, the words of ‘Governor of Sindh’ are substituted with the words of ‘Chief Minister, Sindh’.
Meanwhile, three bills were moved by Sikandar Mandhro. These bills include Govt Bill 25/2015 The Sindh Zakat and Ushar (amendment) Bill, 2015; Govt Bill 27/2015 The Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana (amendment) Bill, 2015, and Govt Bill 27/2015 The Malir University of Science and Technology, Karachi Bill, 2015.
