Yasir Shah will make a difference in Pak-Eng series: David Lloyd

Former England player and current television commentator David Lloyd has said that Yasir Shah would be a massive player to watch, in Pakistan-England Test series because of spin conducive pitches in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Pakpassion quoted David Lloyd as saying that English players did not play spin very well and in a test match with dry pitch and sun beating down, the leg-spinner could really make a difference.

He said he was sure that after Saeed Ajmal, Pakistan would unearth some other spinner against England and that would surely be Yasir Shah.

The former english player further said Pakistan was an unpredictable team and there was never a dull moment in its match against any side.

“You would never get a Pakistan team that was formulated. If you look at England, there’s an accusation that it’s planned and formulated, but not Pakistan as with them it’s off the cuff. Pakistan cricket is Rock and Roll.”

Expressing views about T20 skipper Shahid Afridi, he said Afridi was devastating in his pomp and glory days, adding, one should not disregard his bowling which was very difficult. Those leg-spinners that don’t turn, bowled at a good pace and without much flight with a nice little drifter, were hard to handle.

“If Afridi bats for an hour, particularly in a One-Day game, he wins the game. So when you are playing against him, he is the one that you want out in five overs,” he mentioned.
