Shehbaz won’t rest till complete rehabilitation of flood affectees

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned to immediately conduct a survey to assess the losses in the flood-hit.

He issued this direction while addressing members of Cabinet Committee on Flood present in various districts, divisional headquarters and Civil Secretariat through video conference on Tuesday.

The meeting reviewed in detail relief activities, protective measures and the situation arising due to rains and flood.

Shehbaz said that the government is standing with flood affectees and they will not be left alone in this hour of distress. He said that he will not rest content till complete rehabilitation of affectees. He said that elected representatives and administrative officers will also remain in field to monitor the relief activities.

He directed that relief activities should further be accelerated in flood and rain-hit areas. He said that provision of three time meal on time should be ensured to the affectees in relief camps, adding that all necessary medical facilities should be provided to affected persons in medical camps. He said that beside vaccination, there should be no shortage of fodder for the cattle of affectees.

The chief minister directed to utilise all available resources for drainage of accumulated water at various places of Esa Khel, district Mianwali, adding that additional tents should immediately be sent for the persons affected due to heavy rains in Esa Khel. He said that immediate disposal of water should be ensured by providing additional dewatering sets and other machinery.
