The Sindh Rangers on Tuesday sent a letter to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar, seeking custody of 187 men who are nominated in the targeted killing of all policemen who participated in the 1992 operation in Karachi.
According to a letter, the Rangers said that all police officials who had participated in the 90’s operation against MQM had been assassinated one, by one. The letter added that 187 men, allegedly belonging to the militant wing of MQM had been nominated in the FIRs of these murders.
The Rangers demanded that the MQM hand over custody of these men to the Rangers so that investigations into the cases against them can move forward. The letter was also sent to the Sindh Chief Minister’s Secretariat, home secretary, the IG Police and AIG Karachi.
