The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that 2,160 megawatt Dasu Hydropower Project would be completed in December 2020.
During the question hour, Minister of State for Natural Resources Jam Kamal told the House that PC-1 for the project had been approved by the ECNEC. He said contract for construction of 132 KV transmission line from Duber to Dasu had also been awarded.
To a question, Jam Kamal said various projects were under execution to make hydropower houses more efficient. He said the up-gradation and refurbishment of Mangla Power Station had been planned to increase the efficiency of turbines and reliability of Hydraulic equipment.
He said it would also increase the generation capacity of Mangla Power Station from 1000 to 1310 MW. Similarly, up-gradation and modernization of Warsak Hydroelectric Power Station will regain the lost capacity of 53 MW. To a question, he said Munda Dam Hydropower Project was in detailed engineering design phase and it would be constructed in seven years.
