Additional sessions judge shot dead in Rawalpindi

Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday killed an additional district and sessions judge in Rawalpindi’s Sadiqabad Town area.

Three unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the vehicle of Judge Tahir Khan Niazi as he was leaving his Judges Colony residence in Sadiqabad. The assailants managed to escape from the scene after the attack.

The judge was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds during treatment. Hospital sources said that the judge had died due to excessive bleeding.

A large number of lawyers gathered outside the hospital after receiving the news of the judge’s death.His body was shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for a postmortem.
