A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the Punjab Assembly Kaneez Akhtar passed away on Tuesday after complications during a surgery at the Services hospital.
Akhtar, 70, had sustained a fracture following an injury after which she was taken to Services Hospital for a surgery. However, complications caused her death on Tuesday evening.
Hailing from Faisalabad, she was an MPA on a PML-N reserved seat.
Akhtar was a member of the standing committees on Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal. She had previously served as a district council member in Faisalabad between 1997 and 1999. Her body will be shifted to Faisalabad where her funeral prayers will be offered on Wednesday (today) at 9am. She leaves behind four children.
