Doctors and paramedical medical staff from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) staged a protest on Monday outside the hospital , asking to separate from the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABU).
The protesting employees said that the SZABU administration was bent on usurping their rights and they were being deprived of even their basic rights. The PIMS employees announced that they will stage a protest outside PIMS on a daily basis unless their demands were met.
They said that the PIMS medical staff has been working day in and day out, but their future has been put at stake by the SZABU administration by denying them their basic rights, including basic allowances.
They said that they have exhausted all options to work with the SZABU administration and now they are left with no option but to seek separation from the SZABU university. Patients visiting the hospital faced hardships due to the protest as doctors and nurses refused to attend to them. The protesting employees dispersed almost after an hour. They said that they will come on the road on a daily basis from tomorrow.
