PFA seals five oil units for using “dead animals”

LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed five cooking oil units and had seven people arrested in the Chowki Crawl area after it found the workers extracting oil from dead animals fats on Saturday, local media sources reported.

The PFA team was led by its Director (Operations) Ayesha Mumtaz. Cases have also been registered against units’ owners, said a press release, sources stated.

PFA Iqbal Town team imposed a heavy fine on Bahria Grand Hotel at Bahria Town over poor hygiene and Bahria Food Court due to incomplete labeling, missing expiry dates on masala and broken freezer.

Fine was also imposed on Subway, Bahria Town Branch and Shan Barbecue, Raiwind Road, due to poor hygiene, reportedly.

Ravi Town team imposed fine on Gourmet Bakers at Qila Muhammadi on a public complaint besides fine on Pak Kashmir Hotel, Faisal Hotel and Naeem Café.
