The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned hearing of the case regarding National Accountability Bureau (NAB) monitoring report for one week and directed the secretary Law and Justice Commission to submit reply over review report and details of standard operating procedure (SOP).
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, Waqas Qadeer Dar appeared before the bench and submitted report. He said that the NAB chairman has assured the court that the court order on June 30 would be implemented and case data monitoring mechanism will be completed till August 30. He said that work on data feed was continuing and it would be available on website and with a single touch progress and nature of case can be checked.
He said that NAB had formed three different categories including corruption, misuse of power and land grabbing to investigate the cases. In part one case related to up to Rs 50 million corruption and in second part cases related to up to Rs 500 million corruption and forgery cases at large scales are included, he added.
While in mega scandals cases included misuse of power and billions of rupees corruption cases, he said and added that all relevant details would be provided to Secretary Law and Justice Commission over his contact.
The law secretary informed the court that he would review the NAB report and after getting briefing from NAB officials he would submit amended report. He said that the Law Commission has also got services of Information Technology (IT) experts in this regard.
Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan asked the Secretary Law to submit reply after reviewing the NAB report and also informed the court that whether facts and figures presented in NAB report were correct or not.
