The Pakistani government is considering moving the United Nations and other international forums to highlight Indian spy agency, Research and Analysis Wing’s (RAW) role in fomenting terrorism and insurgency in Pakistan.
Addressing the National Assembly session on Friday, Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan has already taken up the issue of RAW’s activities in Pakistan with various foreign leaders. “The Prime Minister will also raise the issue of RAW’s involvement in Pakistan at the UN General Assembly,” he said, adding that the foreign secretary had raised the issue with his Indian counterpart during the foreign secretary- level talks held in March this year.
Replying to a supplementary question, Aziz said that the government has already condemned the recent terrorist attack in India’s Gurdaspur district. He added that Pakistan rejects the Indian allegation that the country was in any way involved in the incident.
He said that Pakistan has the capability to give befitting reply in case of any threat from Indian side.
Aziz also said that Kashmir issue must be resolved as per UN resolutions as Kashmir is the core issue in Pak-India talks.
