Four terrorists killed in city, 8 killers arrested

At least four suspected terrorists of a banned outfit were killed during Sindh Rangers action at Super Highway near Kathore in the wee hours of Friday.

According to spokesman of the paratroopers, the terrorists were involved in numerous sabotage activities including extortion and targeted killings in the metropolis. All four killed terrorist hailed from a proscribed organisation and were holed up in Kathore, the Rangers spokesman said.

The Rangers personnel conducted an overnight operation near Sassi Toll Plaza in Kathoree. When the troopers reached the area in the proximity on Super Highway, saboteurs ambushed them, inviting a prompt retaliation from the troopers. Four of the terrorists were shot dead in the exchange of gunfire. The terrorists include Muhammed Asif, Muhammed Amir Khan, Abdul Waseem and Younis Ahmed alias Kalia.

The security force recovered modern firearms from their possession. Bodies of these terrorists were shifted to Steel Town police station for legal procedure. Later, the bodies were transported to Jinnah Hospital.

Meanwhile, police on Friday arrested as many as eight wanted criminals in senior lawyer’s murder in an operation in Shah Lateef Town. Shah Lateef and Kherpur police in a joint operation apprehended murderers of lawyer from Kherpur. The forces seized weapons from criminals’ possession. The culprits had murdered a senior lawyer of Sukkur High Court.

The murderers were hiding in Shah Lateef Town after committing the crime. Eight criminals including head Faiz Muhammad were handed over to Kherpur Police. Separately, police arrested a criminal in Gulshan Maymar and seized at least 400 kilograms (kgs) of drugs from his possession. The criminal had formed a drug hub in Maymar Complex.
