Every need of flood affectees will be fulfilled: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, despite not feeling well, reviewed flood situation, protective arrangements and relief activities in South Punjab on Monday and issued necessary instructions to Provincial Cabinet Committee on Flood and administrations concerned in this regard.

He said that the cabinet committee and administrations of districts concerned should complete all protective arrangements in time to cope with floods.

He said that timely evacuation of the people from areas of possible floods should be ensured and all out measures should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens. He said that no excuse will be acceptable regarding safe evacuation of the people.

The Chief Minister directed that in view of floods, protective arrangements should be made on war footing and political and administrative teams should remain in the areas assigned to them.

He said that every need of the flood affected areas will be fulfilled.

Shahbaz Sharif said that flood affected people will not be left alone and all out resources are being utilised for their assistance. He said that Pakistan Army, administration, police, Rescue-1122 and other institutions concerned are actively working in the flood-hit areas.

“Abundant stock of necessary medicines should be available in all medical camps,” he said, adding that additional boats should also be sent to the affected villages of South Punjab.

He said that flood affectees will be rehabilitated on the pattern of 2010. He said that relief activities should be continued in the flood affected areas round the clock. He said that he is personally monitoring flood situation and relief activities.
