Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has awarded various punishments to 19 police officers for delaying in registration of FIRs, preparing bogus diaries of proclaimed offenders, absent from duty and other charges.
According to police, Station House Officer (SHO) Millat Park Inspector Naveed Akmal, SHO Data Darbar Inspector Javed Iqbal, SHO Shafiqabad Inspector Shahid Ali, SHO Iqbal Town Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Raza, SHO Sandha SI Nasir Hameed, SHO Baghbanpura Inspector Nasrullah, SHO Sarwar Road Inspector Zaheeruddin, SHO Race Course Inspector Maqsood Ahmad, former SHO Lohari Gate Inspector Asad Mehmood Qureshi and SI Amjad Ali were awarded punishments of confiscation of service and increment suspension for delaying in registration of FIRs, preparing bogus diaries of POs and not providing proper security to Chinese.
Similarly, nine other police officers have also been awarded punishments of service confiscation, withholding of increment, suspension and fines for showing negligence during duty, absenteeism, delay in registration of FIRs and other charges.
The DIG said that there was no room for corrupt, negligent and incompetent police officers in the department and they would be given no relaxation while stern action would be taken against them.
He said that honest, responsible and hard working officers would be appreciated for their performance.
